SNOW hero Paul Foster rode to the rescue THREE times in one day in his 4x4 vehicle to help out motorists hit by Tuesday's Arctic conditions.

At 8.40am—after dropping his son Nathan off at school and his wife Sonia at Meadowhall interchange—Paul used his Jeep Cherokee to clear a path for an ambulance on a 999 call after an articulated lorry got stuck.

As vehicles blocked Meadowbank Road, Paul drove round the lorry up to the central reservation and put straps onto a van to tow it down and allow the ambulance through.

At 9.30am—after picking up his son after the school closed and on the way to collect his wife from work after she was sent home—Paul towed a woman’s car to safety after it crashed into a wall at the top of Alma Road, Rotherham.

And later, at 6.45pm, Paul was called into action there again to tow friend Tom Thackery’s wife’s car off their garden in Wickersley, after she overshot the driveway.

Tom said: “He’s a real good Samaritan.”

Paul (40), who runs a garage in Masbrough, said modestly: “I don't think I did anything special. I had the vehicle and it gave me satisfaction to help out.”
