Passenger hurt as car overturns

A WOMAN suffered two broken wrists when the car she was in hit a tree and flipped onto its roof yesterday.

The 37-year-old, from Rotherham, was a passenger in a silver Citroen Xsara travelling on Droppingwell Road from Kimberworth to Blackburn.

Police said the car appears to have gone out of control after an offside bend—hitting a tree on the nearside and coming to rest in the middle of the road shortly before 3.30pm.

The driver, a 35-year-old Rotherham man, sustained slight injuries to his face and left hand.

Witnesses are asked to call 01142 202020 quoting incident 623 of February 28.
