On test at the ‘tiser: Land Rover’s Discovery Sport

ON test at the ‘tiser this week is the seven-seat Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV.

The first in a new line of Discovery branded models from Land Rover, the Sport is a replacement for the outgoing Freelander.

Driven here in SD4 SE Tech guise, the seven-seat SUV is priced at £33,895.

Its four-cylinder turbodiesel engine delivers 187bhp and 310lb.ft. of torque, enough to propel the new Disco to 60mph in 9.8 seconds and a 118mph top speed.

Fuel consumption stands at a claimed 46mpg with accompanying CO2 emissions of 162g/km.

Land Rover have just introduced a range of more efficient Inginium engines into the Discovery Sport, which was launched back in February, however. The new power units promise better performance and improved eco credentials.

Among the standard kit on the SE Tech are: part-leather trim; heated front seats; a heated windscreen; climate control; touchscreen sat-nav and DAB radio; cruise control; 18-inch alloys and seven seats.
