Off-duty police officer critical after accident
AN OFF-duty Rotherham police officer suffered serious injuries after he was knocked down by a car.
The 44-year-old was involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa in Staniforth Road, Sheffield, last Wednesday (28) night.
The man, believed to be a Rotherham-based South Yorkshire Police officer, was taken to hospital in a critical condition. The force appealed for witnesses.
