OAP in “life-threatening” condition after Mexborough crash

A PENSIONER is critically ill in hospital after a traffic collision in Mexborough.

The 84-year-old man was walking on Doncaster Road near its junction with Montague Street at around 12.20pm yesterday.

There he was collided with a blue Vauxhall Vectra, which was driven by a 72-year-old man from Denaby Main.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as “life-threatening” — the driver is thought to be unhurt.

Police urge anyone with information about the crash to call them on 101, quoting incident number 421 of March 31.
