Number of Rotherham suicide cases slashed

SUICIDE rates in Rotherham have plummeted nearly 80 per cent in four years, new figures show.

NHS Rotherham has praised the public health partners in working together to provide mental health training and advice.

Stress control classes and domestic abuse training for frontline workers to identify high risk victims have also been part of the interventions.

There were 29 Rotherham suicides in 2007 compared to just six last year.
