For the first time in a few years, the Millers are going into a campaign without the tag of promotion favourites, although many pundits predict them to be there or thereabouts.
The player budget has been increased to enable manager Steve Evans to improve his squad but expectations have to be tempered.

Hide AdDespite that, Stewart says the ambition at the New York Stadium is as strong as ever and that they want to hold their own against the best in the division and will make the necessary adjustments to make that happen.
Speaking to the Advertiser this week, he said: “It's a new league, it's a new experience and we're looking forward to it. We are not making any promises but we are confident we can give value against the top sides.
“We will monitor the performance after ten games because we've a manager who won't sit on his hands.
“He is ambitious, he wants what we want and I know every attempt will be made to get to the highest position possible. We'll be fighting every game.”
Rotherham wrap up their friendlies at home to Barnsley tomorrow (3pm).
