New council homes ready for tenants

THE first council homes to be built in Rotherham for 30 years were officially being opened this week

The Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Shaun Wright, was due to cut the ribbon on to mark the development of 36 new homes on the Wood Street development in Thrybergh.

The exciting £4.5 million scheme at Wood Street has resulted in 28 new houses and eight apartments.

The Thrybergh development is the third to be completed of the 132 brand new homes being built by the council on six sites across the borough.

The remaining properties to due to become available throughout the year will include 29 in West Melton, 29 at Canklow and five in Brinsworth.
