Neighbour from hell banned from own home for two years

A NIGHTMARE neighbour has been jailed for four weeks and kicked out of his house for two years after breaching an court injunction.

Rotherham County Court heard how Shaun Gleadhall, was originally given an anti-social behaviour injunction last year for harassing the neighbours who lived either side of his father’s property.

The injunction ordered Gleadhall not to shout, swear or verbally abuse the neighbours as well as refraining from banging and playing loud music.

However, Rotherham Borough Council's Community Protection Unit took him back to court for breaching the injunction on nine different occasions between April and July last year.

Following a trial on December 1, Gleadhall, who lived with his father in Garbroads Crescent, Thrybergh, was found to have breached the injunction on all nine occasions.

The court heard evidence from the neighbours who described one incident - caught on CCTV - when he deliberately dropped his trousers in view of a female neighbour and threatened to slit her throat - claims which Gleadhall denied.

Despite hearing that Gleadhall had lived at his father’s address all his life, the court found that the breaches were so serious that he should not only be sent to prison for four weeks but also required him to leave and stay away from the family home for two years.

Jenny Swales, an anti-social behaviour officer for the council, described the case as “very traumatic” for the neighbours.
