MIRACLE mum Gemma Lawrence is teaming up with a friend this weekend to pay a musical tribute to a charity close to her heart.

Gemma, who was given just days to live as a teenager when her heart was attacked by a virus, has organised a show called Journey Down Musical Lane to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

She and her friend, Shelley Edwards, are leading a group of talented youngsters from the Rotherham area in the performance, which features tunes from classic and present-day musicals and is also in aid of Action for Children.

It is the perfect way for Gemma (23), of Crossland Street, Swinton, to celebrate her return to health, which culminated with the birth of her daughter Melody last year, just months after she was warned that getting pregnant could kill her.

The show, which has been put together with help from the Stepping Out Dance Studio, is being performed at Montgomery Hall in Wath on Saturday and Sunday at 7.30pm.

For tickets, priced £5, contact Montgomery Hall on 01709 513460.
