Danny suffered with respiratory disease and received specialist treatment by the staff at BreathingSpace, which offers a range of treatments for Rotherham patients with respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, chronic asthma and bronchitis.

They also provide in-patients services for people during the acute phase of their respiratory condition.

Danny was well known in the Rotherham community and was a key figure in the development of the Rotherham Sunday League, a Trustee of Age Concern, and active in a range of local community groups including the Rotherham South Area Assembly.

He was also an active member of the Labour Party.

Trail blazing BreathingSpace  is part of NHS Rotherham Community Health Services and is based within its own purpose-built building on Badsley Moor Lane.
