MP backs abuse victim’s petition
AN ABUSE victim’s online petition to increase funding for counselling services has won the backing of MP John Healey.
Last week (17) we told how Jessica — not her real name — had begun campaigning for the Government to provide more financial help.
Now Mr Healey has also written to justice secretary Chris Grayling praising her “extraordinary bravery”.
The Wentworth and Dearne MP said: “Like Jessica, I’m looking to the Ministry of Justice to make a contribution to ensure long term and immediate counselling and support is available to victims.”
