Motorway closed after fears for man on bridge
By Antony Clay | 28/06/2017
CONCERNS for the welfare of a man on a bridge prompted police to close a stretch of the M1 this morning.
The road was closed in both directions between junctions 36 and 37 for a short time, causing traffic tailbacks.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “The motorway was closed following concerns about a man on a bridge.”
The spokswoman said the man was eventually taken away safely by the police and the road reopened.
