Motorists warned of three-month delays on the roads

MOTORISTS are being warned of up to three months of delays due to roadworks which started in Mexborough this week.

The works are being undertaken by the council on behalf of Ben Bailey Homes as part of planning conditions for a new housing development.

The road works will began on Pastures Road and will move towards the junction with Doncaster Road

The works, which are anticipated to last 12 weeks, have been timed to take place during the school holidays to minimise disruption.

Crews will be working seven days a week to get the job done as quickly as possible.

There will be temporary traffic lights in place for the duration of the works, these will be in operation from 9am in the morning and will be removed at the end of each working day.

For one week of works the road will be closed during the evenings and a diversion will be in place.

The closure will be advertised using signs at a later date.

Residents may not be able to park in front of their houses during our works and are advised to park in the car park opposite their houses.

Doncaster Council’s director of regeneration and environment, Peter Dale, said: “We would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience during these important road works.

“Unfortunately there will be some disruptions but we will endeavour to keep these to a minimum.”
