Motorcyclist fighting for life after Catcliffe crash

A MAN is in a life-threatening condition following a collision between a car and an off-road motorcycle in Catcliffe yesterday (Sunday).

At around 4.20pm, officers received reports that an orange trials bike was travelling along Sheffield Lane when it turned onto Poplar Way and was involved in a collision with a silver Kia Picanto travelling toward Highfield Spring.

A police spokeswoman said: "The 22-year-old rider of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening head injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"The 35-year-old driver of the Picanto and 12-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries."

Officers are asking anyone with information to contact 101 quoting incident 717 of October 1.
