More Rotherham people in work, figures show

MORE people are in work across the Rotherham borough, according to the latest government figures.

The number of people claiming jobseeker’s allowance and universal credit in Rotherham – which includes Maltby, Dinnington and Mexborough – fell by 140 or three per cent to 4,060 in November compared to a year ago.

There were 945 people aged 18 to 24 who claimed jobseeker’s allowance and universal credit, a fall of 90 or nine per cent on this time last year.
