Millers focus on Burton

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans wants his players back on the ball for a difficult away assignment at Burton Albion this weekend.

The Millers ended a run of three defeats by beating Northampton Town 3-1 on Saturday and can steal a march on another of their League Two promotion rivals with a good result at the Pirelli Stadium.

The match kick-starts a hectic run of games through to the middle of March and Evans is keen that the squad is as fresh as possible for such a vital spell. They also make a long trip to Torquay United on Tuesday.

He said: "We're not getting carried away. We have to level it and get ready for a really difficult match at Burton. We then start playing all over the country for a little while but Burton will be the focus.

"The boys will get an extra day with their families this week to get their legs freshened up again because I think the physical and mental pressure of the last fortnight has been tough.

"We're staff — we can go and have a beer at the end of the week — but they're professional sports people we don't expect that of."

Daniel Nardiello set the Millers on their way on Saturday with a 42nd minute penalty — his 14th goal of the season — before Ben Pringle and David Noble added to the tally in the last 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, the away fixture at Bradford City, postponed this month due to the Bantams' involvement in the League Cup final, has been rearranged for Tuesday, April 16.
