Mike takes the reins at Rotherham Hospice

A ROTHERHAM charity has announced the arrival of its first chief executive.

Mike Wilkerson has been selected by The Rotherham Hospice Trust to take on the role at the Broom Road facility.

Mr Wilkerson was previously head of fund-raising and support services at St Wilfrid's Hospice in Chichester. David Clark, chairman of the Rotherham Hospice Trust, said: “Mike brings experience, drive, motivation and an abundance of enthusiasm.

“This will help to ensure that the hospice continues to deliver high quality specialist palliative end of life care to the people of Rotherham.

“In 2008 he completed a masters degree in leadership and management geared to health and social care, with distinction.”

Mike has relocated to Rotherham with his wife Alison. The Rotherham Hospice Trust is a registered charity which needs to raise £2.3 million each year from donations and fund-raising activities to support the work of The Rotherham Hospice.
