A CHARITY which helps provides free nursing care in their own homes to cancer patients and those with other terminal illnesses is hoping that organisations will take a collecting box.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling on people who live or work in Mexborough to help out and the charity is currently recruiting shops, pubs, post offices and all other types of organisation to take a daffodil box next March as part of its Great Daffodil Appeal fund-raiser.

Local community fund-raiser Katie Grinter said: "We really, really need your help.

"In theses uncertain economic times, Marie Curie Cancer Care's patents can't be put on hold and now more than ever we need your support.

"If you live or work in Mexborough we'd love to hear from you!"
