Frack Free Dearne Valley will host speaker David Burley, of Frack Free South Yorkshire at Swinton WMC, Station Road, at 7.30pm.

Organiser Jacky Westwood (pictured) said: “Many people ask if it will reduce energy prices, as the Government has promised, and give us energy security.

“They are also concerned about the waste water and contamination as well as increase in traffic.

“This meeting hopes to inform the public about the reality of an industry that could well be on our doorstep soon.

“The speaker has been investigating the effects of fracking for a number of years and will be able to respond to any questions people may have.”
