Mayor visits Dearne Valley Swimming Club

THE Mayor of Rotherham made a splash when she visited a swimming club — but resisted taking the plunge herself.

Cllr Eve Rose Keenan dropped by a Dearne Valley Swimming Club practice night at Dearne Valley Leisure Centre in Denaby Main after being invited along by member Aimee Clewes (8).

The Mayor befriended Aimee after hearing about how she cares for her mum Cara Crawford, who has severe asthma.

Andrea Gilliver from the swimming club said they were happy to welcome Cllr Keenan "to meet the club's swimmers and see how hard they train”.
