RIVAL plans for the waste plant which could process all of Rotherham’s household rubbish in future were being unveiled this morning.

Geoff Birkett, director of the BDR Waste Partnership, will present details this morning of the proposals from two waste specialist companies vying build the new waste treatment centre in Manvers.

Mr Birkett will outline plans from both SITA Lend Lease and 3SE at a briefing at Barnsley Town Hall.

The firms will find out later this year which of them will be given the contract to build the facility.

Exhibitions displaying the plans are are being held at Montgomery Hall in Wath on Friday and at Mexborough Resource Centre, next Tuesday, between noon and 8pm on each day.
