Emily (27), who runs Holy Ghost Tattoo Collective, is one of a group of artists offering tattoos of a bee — which has become a symbol of Manchester — for a £50 donation, with all proceeds going to the appeal launched by the Manchester Evening News.

As well as offering the bee tattoos in her Imperial Buildings studio, Emily will also travel to Manchester to work at one of the the base of one of the campaign founders Beau Redman over the Pennines on Monday.

“It really affected me when I saw it on the news — I couldn’t speak on Monday night,” Emily said.

“I’ve got a lot of friends in Manchester and I was really worried. It could quite easily have been somebody I knew so it hits home a little bit more — it’s just awful.”

Emily, of Dalton, said all money raised will go straight to the Crowdfunding appeal, which aims to raise £2 million for the British Red Cross to support the families of those killed and injured.
