Man left with serious injuries after M1 collision near Catcliffe

A MAN has been left with life-threatening injuries after a single car collision on the M1 early this morning (Friday).

The 33-year-old remains in hospital after a silver Toyota Yaris collided with the central reservation.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway about a third of a mile before junction 33 at Catcliffe at around 2.40am.

A police spokesman said: “The 33-year-old sustained a head injury and currently remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

“No-one else was injured in the collision.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the vehicle beforehand, to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 84 of June 15.
