Man hunt launched to find Wath sex attacker

A MAN hunt is underway and police are appealing for information after a sex attack at a property in Wath.

Officers received reports that a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted by a man at a property in Wath, at around 6.20pm on Monday.

No further details have been given about the location of the attack at this stage.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “We have increased the patrols in the area and resources have been deployed to locate the suspect.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may hold vital information.”

One Swinton resident contacted the Weekender after seeing a large police presence around the Sandygate area of Wath between 6pm and 7pm on Monday.

Anyone with information is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 924 of October 14.
