Man charged with Swinton hair salon break-in

A MAN arrested outside a Swinton shop on suspicion of burglary has been remanded in custody.

Police swooped on Martin Shaw (37) near Tan-Inn on the junction of Queen Street and Station Street in Swinton last Thursday afternoon.

A video of the arrest was viewed more than 20,000 after being posted on Facebook.

A police spokeswoman said Shaw, of Albany Road, Kilnhurst, had been charged with burglary in connection with a break-in at a hair salon on Church Street, Swinton, on Wednesday, September 6. 

Shaw has been remanded into custody to appear before the courts at a later date.
