Man charged over Rotherham and Sheffield armed robberies

A 41-year-old man will appear in court today (Friday) charged in connection with a series of armed robberies committed across Rotherham and Sheffield.

Shane Murphy, of no fixed address, has been charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery following a police investigation into a spate of offences where convenience stores were targeted. 

Cigarettes and money were stolen in the armed robberies which occurred between January 20 and April 24.

Murphy was remanded and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court later today (Friday).
