Man battered in pub car park

DETECTIVES in Rotherham have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man was attacked in a pub car park.

The 23-year-old from East Dene was returning home from a friend's house at around 2am on Saturday when he was attacked in the car park of the disused East Dene pub on Badsley Moor Lane.

The victim suffered serious head and facial injuries in the attack and was taken by ambulance to Rotherham General Hospital. His condition was described as stable.

Police want to trace two passers-by who found the victim and helped him at the scene. Detectives believe they may hold vital information.
