M1 at Rotherham reopens after accident

THE M1 has reopened more than five hours after an accident forced the northbound carriageway to be closed.

The Highways Agency said three lorries and a car were involved in the collision at 11.30am near junction 31 at Aston.

“After arranging removal of the vehicles and a partially-shed load as well as securing the load in a damaged lorry, officers were able to re-open the carriageway at 4.15pm,” he said.
