The ten-year-old tabby has been taken in by Moat Lane-based animal charity Rain Rescue.

Willow is at least ten years old but is healthy.

Deputy charity manager Lauren Sanderson said: “Willow is just the sweetest cat you will ever meet.

“She arrived with us here at the centre when her beloved owner passed away suddenly.

“There was no one else to care for her so she is now desperately trying to find a new place to call home.

“Older cats like Willow always take longer to find new homes and will often stay in rescue much longer than say cute, fluffy kittens. It’s so unfair.

“Willow has been a loyal pet and was a much needed companion for her previous owner. To now see her without that special human bond makes us so sad.”
