I WOULD like to thank Angela Bissell for her insight into Habershon House in her letter (September 29 ).
I was there in 1958 and wrote a long account of that stay to the Advertiser last year. It may still be there in the archives, but it was too long to go on the normal letters page .
I wonder if Angela could expand on her experience at Habershon House. My friend Peter Hawkridge (Rotherham District Civic Society) is thinking of doing one of the house if enough people are interested in writing of their time there and have any photos.
Unfortunately I can’t remember anybody having a camera back then when I was there, although I still have the postcard we sent back to our parents.
It was a Mrs Hill (no relation ) who was in charge when I was there for the last visit of 1958 and she lived in Filey .
If anyone is interested please ring me on 850035.
