Learn to drive the police way

POLICE officers are offering driving lessons in a bid to make people use the road more safely.

Topics including car control, skidding, drink/drug driving and the use of mobile phones behind the wheel will be covered as part of the advanced driving techniques course.

The sessions are mainly classroom-based but include a demonstration drive where attendees have an hour out in a police car with an qualified police driving instructor.

The aim is to demonstrate all the techniques learnt on the course as well as provide an insight into police driving.

The course is £30 per person for four classroom sessions and a demonstration drive.

It will be held at South Yorkshire Police’s Robert Dyson House training centre in Wath-upon-Dearne.

The first course will take place on January 26 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
