Labour council candidates revealed

Rotherham Borough Council’s ruling Labour group has unveiled its list of candidates for next year’s council elections.

Alongside the sitting councillors and past contenders next May will be eight new candidates.

Among them are Hellaby candidate Jennifer Andrews and Sitwell Ward’s Taj Khan.

Group secretary Cllr Reg Littleboy said: “Despite the attack from the Coalition government and the withdrawing of funding; our aim is to continue to provide local services that are of a quality nature based on the needs of our local people.

Rotherham is a three-star council and with the support of Rotherham residents we will continue to progress the council to achieving excellence."

Anston/Woodsetts: Judy Dalton.

Boston Castle: Peter Anthony Wootton.

Brinsworth and Catcliffe: Andrew Roddison.

Dinnington: Jane Havenhand.

Hellaby: Jennifer Andrews.

Holderness: Lyndsay Pitchley.

Hoober: Jane Hamilton.

Keppel: Barry Arthur Kaye.

Maltby: Christine Beaumont.

Rawmarsh: Neil Hamilton.

Rother Vale: John Francis Swift.

Rotherham East: Barry Dodson.

Rotherham West: John Foden.

Silverwood: Roger Stone

Sitwell: Taj Khan.

Swinton: John Doyle.

Valley: Paul Lakin.

Wales: Dominic Beck.
