Kyle's the pick of the crop

STAR student Kyle Drewett is celebrating after being named a college’s Student of the Year.

The 19-year-old from Denaby Main picked up the top prize as Dearne Valley College students picked up prizes for their achievements at the college’s annual student awards night.

Tutors nominated students who they believed were “outstanding” and the best of the year were rewarded with prizes.

The awards recognise progress and achievement from all vocational areas and levels of the college.

Other awards handed out include Adult Achiever of the Year, which was awarded to

Jill Evans (43) from East Herringthorpe, and Apprentice of the Year, which went to Dale Camplin (25), whois currently doing a Construction apprenticeship.

Alicja Gellert (28), received the Sheffield Hallam University Academic Achiever of the Year.
