POORLY youngsters are set to benefit from the kind deed of a young Advertiser Clipper Club member after she donated her prize tickets to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Katie Woodland (11), of Laughton en le Morthen, won tickets in a Clipper Club competition to see Noddy in Toyland when the show comes to Rotherham on May 30.

But when she was told of her win, the kind-hearted Year 6 Laughton All Saints pupil decided that she wanted to give the family ticket for four to the children’s hospice.

Her proud mum, Kathryn Creasey, said: “Katie entered the competition but didn’t really think that she would win.

“When we got the call saying that she was one of the winners, she said ‘I’m nearly 12, what am I going to do?’

“And she suggested giving them to Bluebell Wood—she said that she wanted to give them to someone who would appreciate the tickets more than she would.”

Kathryn added that Katie’s grandmother died six years ago and the youngster had always grown up with someone who needed her.

That’s the sort of girl she is and her six-year old sister, Sophie, has got the same sort of temperament,” she added.

Sarah Champion, chief executive of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We’d like to thank Katie for her incredibly generous donation of tickets to the Noddy show.

“One of our families will really enjoy the show and it is wonderful of Katie to think about Bluebell Wood after winning these tickets herself in a competition.”
