Invitation to free tea dance at Moorgate care home for Dementia Awareness Week

CURRENT and former patients of an over-65s hospital unit are invited to a free afternoon tea dance.

Staff at The Woodlands, which cares for pensioners with mental health needs, are marking Dementia Awareness Week in May with two 1940s-themed afternoon tea dances.

The dances, on May 22 and 23, will happen in the reception area at The Woodlands between 1pm and 4pm.

The event will include information stalls covering mental health conditions and the support available locally.

Patients’ carers are also invited to attend the dance, which marks Dementia Awareness Week — running from May 15 to May 21.

The Woodlands is behind Rotherham Hospital, off Moorgate Road, in Moorgate. Attendees can simply turn up to take part.

The Woodlands is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
