Inspectors praise Swinton school's improvement

STAFF and students had an early Christmas present when Ofsted inspectors said that their school was good and showing rapid improvement.

Rises in results and attendance were both highlighted in the report on Swinton Community School, which graded the main school and its sixth form as good with “good capacity for sustained improvement.”

Inspectors also commented on the school’s “rapid improvement” over the last two years.

Headteacher, David Pridding, said: “Staff, students and their families can be very proud of what the Ofsted team said about our school.

“Our success has been based on a genuine partnership between school, the students and their families.

“We are delighted with what inspectors have reported and they have made some positive recommendations to help us improve even further; we are already working on those suggestions.

“Our whole school community knows my ambitions for this school; we are now officially a good school and we will get even better.”
