Inquests to open for Maltby crash victims

THE inquests of two men who died when the car in which they were travelling crashed into a bridge in Maltby will open tomorrow (Wednesday).

Timothy Brookes (40) and Benjamin Hughes (27) were in a red Citroen C1 travelling along the A631 Tickhill Road, at around 8.40pm on Friday.

Police said Mr Brookes, who was driving the vehicle, failed to negotiate a right-hand bend.

The car then mounted the pavement and crashed into a bridge parapet.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their inquests will open at Doncaster Coroner’s Court at 9.30am tomorrow.

Police would like to speak to a number of people who they believe were at the scene.

Anyone with any information should call officers on 101, quoting incident number 1136 of October 6.
