Hunt for vandal who poured paint-stripper over cars

POLICE are seeking a vandal who poured paint-stripper over two cars in Mexborough.

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to about the incident, which happened at 4.15am on Sunday, September 24.

The solvent was poured over a white Renault Clio and silver Vauxhall Insignia parked on Pym Road, causing damage to both.

PC Thomas Cutts said: “We are aware the CCTV images aren’t very clear.

“But I would urge anyone who may recognise his clothing, or neighbouring properties with CCTV to check their systems for footage of this man, as we believe he has information that will be able to assist with our enquiries.

“This incident has caused damage to the cars and distress to the victims.”

PC Cutts asked anyone with information to disclose it via 101, quoting incident number 306 of September 24.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
