THIEVES have smashed their way into a high street jewellers and made of with £1,000 worth of stock.
Police issued an appeal information following the theft from Herbert Brown Jewellers on High Street, Mexborough, was discovered by staff shortly after 6am this morning
Officers said that shutters to the front of the shop had been forced open and the window smashed before thieves made off with approximately £1,000 worth of jewellery.
Police are continuing with their investigation and anyone with information should contact 0114 220 2020 quoting incident number 102.
