Hundreds pay tribute to truck accident teenager

HUNDREDS tributes have been paid to a Maltby teenager killed in an accident with a truck.

Thomas Playforth (17), was hit by a Scania articulated tractor unit being driven by a 44-year-old man in Muglet Lane on Friday evening.

Police said the teenager appeared to have run into the road.

Since the accident, more than 600 people have paid tribute to the youngster on a Facebook page set up in his memory.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident which happened opposite the junction with Millard Lane at 9.23pm .

Anyone who saw the teenager or the tractor driver before the incident have also been asked to come forward. Contact: 0114 2202970.
