The Barnburgh and Harlington Against HS2 Action Group is holding the event on Saturday (Oct 7) from 10am to 1pm near the village’s Crown pub on Ludwell Close off Doncaster Road.

A spokeswoman said: “The action group will have some helium balloons in place to show the height and width of the HS2 embankment when it goes through Barnburgh.

“There will also be visuals in a marquee to show the area as it is now, and what it is envisaged it will look like when the HS2 embankment is built.”

The recently announced HS2 route will run from Aston and Bramley up to Mexborough, before heading out to Barnburgh and the Dearne Valley.
