Hotshot Moore back to full fitness, says Warne
Kieffer Moore celebrates one of his nine goals so far this season

MILLERS boss Paul Warne believes League One top-scorer Kieffer Moore is back to full fitness after suffering a niggling groin injury.

The nine-goal Ipswich loanee has played through the pain barrier in recent weeks, often hunting alone up-front, but Warne believes his star striker is now firing on all cylinders.

And as the Millers prepare to do battle with Scunthorpe at the AESSEAL New York Stadium tomorrow, Warne is hoping that the pain is now in the past for 25-year-old Moore.

Warne said: “I think he’s alright to be honest. Obviously he played on Saturday and we wouldn’t normally train him until later on in the week, but this week he joined in straight away, which is a good sign.

"I’m hoping his groin issues are behind him.

“When he gets fatigued that will be his point of soreness so it wouldn’t surprise me if it kept rearing its head with so many games, three games in a week next week potentially if he’s in the team, with all the travel it will probably takes its toll.

“We’ll have to manage him, but at the moment I think he’s in a good place.”

Goalkeeper Marek Rodák has returned from international duty with Slovakia U21s and will be competing with Richard O’Donnell – who kept a clean sheet in the win at Rochdale – for a starting spot.

The injury that forced skipper Lee Frecklington off in the opening minutes at Spotland isn’t as bad as first feared and Warne said he was being evaluated ahead of the clash.

Joe Newell is fit to take on the Iron while winger Jon Taylor is recovering well from a knee injury, but will not be in contention tomorrow.
