Hotel evacuated as firefighters battle blaze

FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze for almost 12 hours after flames ripped through the roof space of a Rotherham hotel.

Crews were called to the Station Hotel, on Station Road, Masbrough, at around 3.45am on Saturday morning after a blaze which started on the building’s first floor spread into its roof space.

The occupants of 20 rooms at the hotel were safely evacuated from the building as firefighters fought the blaze using five appliances and an aerial ladder platform.
