Hospital in appeal for new governors

HOSPITAL bosses have launched a search for four new governors to help shape the future of health services.

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust will elect the new recruits this spring to join a team tasked with improving the service.

Secretary Kerry Rogers said: “Our governors really care about the health of their communities and play an essential role in holding the trust to account.

“We are looking for committed people who want to join the team and help improve, develop and support positive changes to the services we offer to our patients and the wider community.”

The trust—which has 14,000 members—will fill one vacancy each in the Rotherham North, Rother Valley South, Rother Valley West and the Rest of England constituencies.

Kerry said: “Being a member or a governor gives you the chance to say what you would choose for the trust, for your care, for your community and you really can make a difference by getting involved.”

Anyone over 16 is eligible to become a member and stand. An informal event takes place at the hospital from 5.15pm on February 28.
