CHURCH leaders left shattered when the historic stained glass windows at South Yorkshire's oldest church were smashed are smiling again after unveiling the stunning replacements—just in time for Christmas.
St Peter's Church in Conisbrough was wrecked by intruders 16 months ago and church officials were left feeling even sicker after learning that the primary school-aged culprits had been let off with a "slap on the wrist."
But the community has rallied round and helped them raise £14,000 pay for repairs by experts.

Hide AdThe Rev Alan Griffiths, the church's vicar, described the response of the community as "very encouraging," adding: "Everyone has rallied round. It's clear that people see St Peter's as their church, even if they don't come every week."
