High winds fan factory fire

Eight fire engines from Rotherham, Maltby and other stations were called out at around 2.30am to the former Unbrako steel premises on Manor Road.

A fire which started outside the building is believed to have been spread inside by high winds.

Fire crews reported a danger of asbestos being present at the unit and people living nearby were warned to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.

The Fire Brigade reported just before lunchtime that the fire was now out.
