Have your say on Tinsley Towers site plan
A PUBLIC information event is being held today about the £120m Blackburn Meadows biomass energy plant, which is currently under construction on the site of the old Tinsley Towers.
People can meet staff from E.ON who are behind the development at the meeting from 3pm to 7pm at the Tinsley Green Community Centre in Norborough Road.
A spokesman for E.ON said that the plant would create enough energy to power 40,000 homes every year, by converting recycled waste wood into electricity.

Hide AdThey added: “E.ON will use UK sourced recycled waste wood to power the plant and, as far as is possible, will use local companies throughout the construction.
“It is expected that the site will create around 30 full-time jobs within the local area once operational in mid-2014.”
