Harrison released by Millers

EXPERIENCED midfielder Danny Harrison is among the players released by Rotherham United.

The move brings to an end a five-year stay with the club, the 29-year-old having signed from Tranmere Rovers in 2007.

Luke Foster, Richard Naylor, Tom Newey, Ollie Banks and Marcus Marshall have also been let go while two contracted players, defender Michael Raynes and goalkeeper Jamie Annerson, have been made available for transfer.

Goalkeeper Andy Warrington has signed an extended contract and veteran Paul Warne has retired from playing but takes up a position on the coaching staff.

All loan players have been sent back to their respective parent clubs.

Youngsters Mitchell Rose and Alec Denton have been handed first-year development professional contracts.

Manager Steve Evans met with the entire squad yesterday.
