Grown-your-own fruit project gets £1,000 boost

A COMMUNITY project which wants to restore an old orchard in Wath has been given a £1,000 boost.

The Rotherham in Root project, run by Voluntary Action Rotherham, is intended to help people grow their own food.

It aims to plant at least eight varieties of apples, plums and pears at Newhill Park, Wath and encourage residents to develop the site further.
